Excel filters leave rows out of the result
Separate a second active filter from an incomplete filter range before changing or deleting worksheet data.
When a row matches your chosen value but stays hidden, inspect the other column headers for active filter icons. Excel combines column filters, so a row must also meet the remaining criteria. Clear the other criteria on a copy of the workbook before assuming the row is missing.

Save the view you need to preserve
Save a separate workbook copy before changing filters used for a report or shared workflow. Note the current criteria if you need to recreate the view. Clearing a filter changes which rows are visible; it is not an instruction to delete rows or rewrite their values.
Pick one missing record as your comparison case. Use a stable identifier such as an order ID rather than a common name that appears in several rows.
Clear criteria and find that record
For a single column, open its filter button and choose Clear Filter from the named column. To clear the worksheet's filters in Windows Excel, use Data > Clear. Microsoft documents both actions in Clear or remove a filter.
Search for the comparison record after clearing, then apply only the one criterion you intended. Microsoft's filter guide explains that filters across columns narrow the result together. It also notes that Find searches only displayed data while filtering is active. A failed search in a filtered view therefore does not establish that the record is absent.
If the record now appears, reintroduce the other filters one at a time. The first one that hides it gives you a specific criterion to inspect. For example, an intended status filter may still be paired with a date restriction from the previous report.
Include the full range
If newly added rows do not respond to the filter at all, rebuild an ordinary range filter on the workbook copy. Turn the existing range filter off with Data > Filter, select the full rectangle from the header row through the last record and last column, then turn Data > Filter on again. Microsoft starts its AutoFilter instructions with selecting the data to filter.
Do not include a report title above the real headers or unrelated notes below the records. For an Excel table, treat table boundaries separately; do not convert or restructure the table merely to try this ordinary-range procedure.
Filter for the comparison record again and inspect the last rows as well as the top ones. If the row is within the intended range but still fails, compare its actual cell value with one that succeeds. The Excel date-type guide helps when apparently similar dates behave differently.
For an unresolved case, use the Excel community links in Microsoft's filter guide. Supply a small anonymized sample, the exact criterion, and whether the data is a range or table. Avoid sending the full business workbook.
