Photoshop crop cannot be expanded: check whether pixels were deleted
Find out whether a crop hid the original pixels or removed them, then keep an editable master for future reframing.
Expanding a crop can reveal the original edges only if that image data is still in the document. Turning off Delete Cropped Pixels before cropping preserves it; turning the option off afterward cannot restore deleted pixels.

Check whether the crop kept the pixels
Keep the current file and any earlier originals. Do not overwrite your only copy while looking for the missing edge.
Open the editing file, not just the export
Check whether you reopened the original photograph, the working Photoshop document, or a cropped delivery image. Open an earlier version separately if one is available.

Increasing the canvas size alone does not bring back the photograph. Look for actual image detail beyond the cropped edge.
Expand a crop that retained its content
Select the Crop tool and click the image to revisit the crop. Move the boundary outward and check whether the missing content appears. Adobe demonstrates this in its crop tutorial.
If the edge is present, adjust the framing and commit the crop. If it is absent, return to the earlier original or backup; repeatedly expanding this file will not recover deleted content.
Keep later crops editable
For a file you expect to reframe, turn off Delete Cropped Pixels before applying the next crop. Adobe's Crop tool options distinguish this from permanently removing the outside pixels.
Save an editable master separately from delivery exports, and keep the source photograph. Reopen the master and check that the retained crop content is still available before relying on it for another size.
