CapCut desktop exports look blurry: compare the source and output
Find where detail is lost before increasing resolution, sharpening the image, or exporting the entire project again.
Compare the original clip with a short local export at the same viewing size. If the source is already soft, export settings cannot recreate detail that was never captured. If only the export loses detail, compare resolution and bitrate. If the local file is clear but an uploaded copy is not, keep those two stages separate.

Make a fair visual comparison
Choose a representative shot with small text, hair, fabric, or movement. Inspect the original file outside CapCut and note its dimensions. Then compare the exported file on the same display at a similar size. Comparing a small editor preview with a full-screen export can exaggerate the apparent difference.
Keep the original source and project. Avoid judging quality from a screenshot sent through a messaging app or a previously compressed copy if the camera original is available. CapCut's blurry-video guidance identifies low-quality sources and repeated export/import cycles as issues worth checking.
Check the edit before export settings
Inspect any crop, enlargement, or reframing. For example, filling a tall frame with a heavily cropped wide image uses only part of the original image. Raising the output dimensions does not restore the discarded field of view or the source detail available inside that crop.
Temporarily compare the affected shot without optional blur, beauty, or enhancement effects in a project copy. If only that shot looks soft, investigate its source and adjustments before changing settings for the whole timeline. Keep creative blur or motion effects that are part of the intended design.
Compare resolution and bitrate separately
Open the export panel and record the settings currently selected. Choose dimensions appropriate to the intended delivery and source, then compare a higher bitrate if compression artifacts are the problem. Keep the same range, resolution, and frame rate during that bitrate comparison.
CapCut's resolution guide documents desktop resolution, frame-rate, and bitrate controls. Available choices can differ across platforms and configurations. Do not assume that every account or device exposes the same options.
A 4K, 60-fps preset is not a universal repair. A larger frame size or different frame rate changes the output requirements; it does not automatically make an out-of-focus source sharp. Use the required delivery frame rate and review movement as well as paused frames.
Use a short sample to choose the next step
CapCut describes In and Out markers for exporting a section. Confirm the selected duration and use unique filenames for comparisons.

Sharpening can change edge appearance and can exaggerate noise. It is not proof of recovered detail. Keep an untreated comparison if you choose to adjust it.
