CapCut / Troubleshooting

CapCut cloud projects are missing: check the account and Space

Find out whether you are viewing the wrong account, the wrong Space, or a shared workspace with an access restriction.

Documentation reviewed · Not hands-on tested
Quick answer

Check the original login method and the selected Space before treating a missing cloud project as deleted. If your own projects appear but a shared Space does not, investigate the invitation and access conditions with its owner. A project stored locally on one computer is not evidence that a cloud copy exists.

CapCut Desktop on Windows and macOS with cloud Spaces. Requires a supported account and connection. Local draft recovery, subscription purchases, and bypassing regional restrictions are outside this guide.

Protect the copies you can still open

Leave an accessible local project and its media intact. Record its name, last known editing device, and where you previously opened it. If another collaborator can still access the cloud project, ask them to preserve it while you investigate.

Do not clear application data, uninstall CapCut, or delete local drafts to force a cloud refresh. Those actions do not establish that a missing copy is recoverable. Keep the distinction between an exported video, an editable local draft, and an editable cloud project when describing the problem.

Confirm the account identity

CapCut's login instructions advise using the same sign-in method used when the account was created. Check whether the project belonged to your Google, TikTok, email, or other supported login identity. Do not assume that two login buttons reach the same account merely because the displayed names look similar.

Before signing out, save current work and make sure you can authenticate again. Compare the account identity with the device on which the project was last available. Do not create a replacement account during this check; an empty new account would add another place to search.

Open Spaces, then identify the workspace

CapCut's cloud-access guide directs desktop users to Spaces, where personal and shared workspaces appear. Check the selected Space, not only a recent-project list.

PatternWhat to establish
All cloud projects are absentCorrect account and whether Spaces loads
Your own projects appear, but a team project does notCorrect shared Space and intended membership
One project is missing on every deviceWhether its owner can locate the original
A local draft appears on only one computerWhether a cloud copy was ever uploaded

These are investigation branches, not a determination that your data has been deleted. Check connectivity and the installed app version. Preserve the project before restarting or applying an official update.

Separate sharing restrictions from a loading fault

Ask the owner to confirm that the invitation targets the intended account and that the project is in the Space you are trying to open. Have them check the access state from their side instead of making the content publicly accessible as a workaround.

CapCut's shared-Space guidance says some cross-region collaboration can be restricted. That is a possibility to report to support, not a reason to falsify your region or expect a different network to restore access. The owner and collaborator may need a supported handoff method for their locations.

Ask support a specific question

Through the support link in CapCut cloud help, provide the app version, account identifier, Space/project name, regions involved, and the exact message. Never send a password or verification code.

We have not tested cloud synchronization or recovered a project. This guide does not guarantee that an unavailable local draft has a cloud backup.
